There’s a lifetime of unbelievable meals in Key West. How does a tourist even get started? While there are more options than you can likely fit into a single trip (unless you stick around for 3 months!), you’d be in pretty good shape if you get these five meals on your list:

Stone Crabs

Where: Eaton St. Seafood Market

Stone crab fresh from the ocean is a must try in Key West. And there’s no better place to enjoy a few stone crab claws with a side of key lime mustard than the Eaton St. Seafood Market. You can eat on the outside patio, or you can take your food to go and find a scenic pier to sit on.

Conch Fritters

Where: Mangoes

Conch fritters are one of THE foods of the Keys. Around here, they’re taken seriously enough to warrant seceding from the mainland. (Conch Republic, anyone?). At Mangoes, you can have them on the beautiful outdoor patio and wash them down with an ice cold mojito.

Peel & Eat Pink Shrimp

Where: Hogfish Bar & Grill

There’s no neat way to eat these, and we like it that way! You think you’ll have just a couple, and before you know it, you’re elbow deep in shells finishing up your first ½ pound, and putting in an order for more. Of course, the ocean view and ice cold beer aren’t too bad either.

Cuban Roast Pork

Where: El Siboney

With Cuba only 105 miles away, it’s no wonder Key West has some of the absolute best Cuban fare outside Havana. The puerco asado at El Siboney is a must-try, but be careful, because it’s been dubbed a gateway meal to trying about eight other things on the menu.

Key Lime Pie

Where: Blue Heaven

We thought about not including key lime pie on this list because, let’s face it, it’s a little too famous. With that being said, we believe key lime has become such a household name for a reason. And there’s no better place to get it than Blue Heaven, where it’s made with a buttery graham cracker crust, freshly squeezed lime juice, sweetened condensed milk and lots of meringue.
