Papa Doble

Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Papa's Pilar Blonde Rum
  • .75 oz fresh lime juice
  • .5 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1 tsp maraschino liqueur

Directions

Combine all ingredients and shake. Strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a lime wheel. Enjoy!

Missionary's Highfall

Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz. Jameson whiskey
  • 1 oz. pineapple juice
  • 1 oz. coconut water
  • 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz. falernum
  • Tools: barspoon
  • Glass: Collins
  • Garnish: mint sprig, pineapple chunks

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a Collins glass and fill with crushed ice.
  2. Insert a barspoon into the drink and swizzle the mixture until frost appears on the outside of the glass.
  3. Garnish with mint and skewered pineapple. Enjoy!

Mary Ellen's Asian Cauliflower Bites

Small Bite

Ingredients

  • one bag of frozen cauliflower
  • a few sprigs of green onions
  • 2 tbsp tamari
  • 1/4 cup Mirin
  • 1/4 cup sweet soy
  • chili paste or chili garlic sauce (Sriracha) to taste
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds

Directions

  1. Bring a large pot with one or two inches of oil to a simmer.
  2. Trim white roots off the green onions and thinly slice diagonally.
  3. In two separate bowls, mix together dry ingredients (except green onions and sesame seeds) in one and wet sauce ingredients in the other.
  4. Empty bag of frozen cauliflower. Using a dish or paper towel, pat cauliflower semi dry.
  5. Dredge still frozen cauliflower through the dry mix and coat thoroughly.
  6. In batches, if necessary, gently lower coated cauliflower into oil and fry until golden and tender. Remove cauliflower from oil onto a draining rack or paper towel and let cool for a few minutes. Then transfer to a serving dish.
  7. Generously drizzle wet sauce mixture onto the fried cauliflower. Use a spoon to roll the cauliflower around in the sauce.
  8. Sprinkle dish with green onion slices and sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy!
