In a town so drenched in fresh fish, you can imagine that our fish taco game is strong. There’s no shortage of the seafood-filled tortillas here on the island, and if you are any bit as indecisive as we are, it can be hard to choose exactly where to go.

So we’ve done the dirty and delicious work for you and compiled a list of the best fish tacos in town. Here they are in no particular order…

Garbo’s Grill

TripAdvisor’s #2 of 322 Key West Restaurants, Garbo’s Grill makes up in flavor what they lack in overhead cost’s.  This food truck has absolutely perfected their limited menu making every item a home run. Plan on putting in time for these extremely popular tacos, but a delicious Strawberry-lime margarita from Hank’s Bar makes the waiting easy…

Kaya Island Eats

Chef Scott Taylor at Kaya Island Eats brings his Hawaiian roots to the table with his unique fusion of Caribbean and Hawaiian flavors that is sure to knock your socks off. His ‘Killer Fish Tacos’ feature the freshest, local Mahi Mahi with with a Key Lime slaw and mango pineapple salsa.  Pair that with his famous house Mai Tai and the laid back, island vibes of the restaurant and you can’t go wrong!

Lagerhead’s Beach Bar

We think all fish tacos should come with mandatory mango salsa.  At Lagerhead’s they make ’em heavy and pleasing. This beach shack overlooking the Key West harbor is one of a kind.

Hogfish Bar & Grill

These technically aren’t in Key West, but in the “Brooklyn of Key West”–Stock Island. It’s all in the name. Fried Hogfish is on the menu here, and if you’ve never had Hogfish Snapper before, DID YOU EVEN COME TO KEY WEST?

Dante’s

Once you go blackened it’s hard to come back. Dante’s is big on the portions and big on the party. This pool restaurant is the definition of Spring Break forever.

Fisherman’s Cafe

Fisherman’s Cafe tacos are as pretty as they are tasty! Photo // instagram // fishermanscafekw

They may be a relative newcomer to The Rock, but Fisherman’s Cafe’s use of local produce and Caribbean flare makes them taste like they’ve always been here. Eating at this shack comes with a side of dock views and an extra serving of palm tree shade.  Be sure to order some yuca fries too!

Amigo’s Tortilla Bar

So tempting, it’s too hard to snap a pic of an Amigo’s taco without taking a bite first! Photo // instagram // evelyn_imgood

In the heart of Downtown, Amigo’s is in stumbling distance from Key West’s most famous bars. But, you won’t catch them leaning on their location as a crutch. The atmosphere is as friendly as their name, and their Mexican fish tacos are equally inviting. Sit at the bar facing the street to enjoy the extra benefit of people watching while you munch. They also happen to be the only place in town that offers a key lime pie duo: a half slice each of 2 different styles of our famous dessert.
