The Florida Keys leave no shortage of exciting things for visitors to try. Whether you’re into amazing food, music, partying, relaxing, sailing, whatever it is, the Keys have it. With that in mind, here are five activities that are universally loved by visitors (we know because we get to hear about it!).

  1. Feeding the tarpon at Robbie’s Marina in Islamorada.

No matter what stage of life you’re at, feeding a school of 100 tarpon that come to Robbie’s Marina daily is an experience you won’t forget soon. Robbie might even tell you the story of how he and his wife started feeding the first tarpon, Scarface, in 1976. Plus, with admission at $2/person and a bucket of fish at $3, this is one activity that will leave you plenty of dough for other pursuits!

  1. Visiting the Sea Turtle rescue in Marathon.

Now in its 31st year and complete with an education center, this sea turtle hospital is truly something special. Guests are invited to take a guided educational tour of the hospital facilities and the sea turtle rehabilitation area. Cost of admission goes towards running the hospital!

  1. Snorkeling at Looe Key Reef.

Located about five nautical miles offshore of Big Pine Key, Looe Key reef is a National Marine Sanctuary and offers visitors unparalleled water clarity, mild conditions, and at least 50 different species of coral.

  1. Paddleboarding through the mangroves with Lazy Dog.

Get some exercise and catch some sun on a stand-up paddleboard with a crew of like-minded adventurers. You can book a trip that’s more casual or a more exercise-oriented option. You can even book a trip to the backcountry, if you’re really ready go off the beaten path!

  1. Go on a Food Tour!

The Keys have one of the most diverse and unique cuisines you can find anywhere. Whether you enjoy fresh seafood, authentic Caribbean flavors, or you’re just here to have the best slice of Key Lime pie in your life, we’ve got something for you.
